Two people were killed and another three were injured in two shootings on Tuesday morning carried out by the same assailant, including at a shopping center north of Dallas, authorities said.
The shooting suspect, identified by police as 69-year-old Seung Ho Han, was apprehended following a short foot pursuit, police said.
The gunfire first broke out at a Korean shopping center in Carrollton, located about 20 miles north of Dallas, on Tuesday morning, police said.

Police responded to K Towne Plaza shortly before 10 a.m. CT for reports of a shooting and found a man dead at the scene and three others — two men and woman — with gunshot wounds, Carrollton police said in a news release.
At a news conference earlier Tuesday, Carrollton Police Chief Roberto Arredondo said the shooting happened during a business meeting.
Then while the first shooting was still being investigated, police learned of a second shooting in the 2700 block of Old Denton Road, a few miles away, shortly before 11:15 a.m. At the scene, police discovered a man dead inside an apartment, authorities said.

During the earlier news conference, Arredondo called it a “complicated scene.” Officers were working “multiple scenes” across K Towne Plaza and a nearby shopping center, locally known as Koreatown, where the suspect was taken into custody, he said.

“Currently, there is no immediate threat to the public,” Arredondo said. “Victims were meeting with the suspect for a business purpose. This is not a random act of gunfire.”
Arredondo said police were still working to learn more about the business relationship between the suspect and the victims, who were all adults.
In the news release, police said the suspect “stated he was angry at het victims due to financial disagreements related to their business dealings.”
The police chief did not release any further details on the victims.
