Golfer Cameron Young Attended Church Before Playing Masters

Even competing on the final day of the 2026 Masters couldn’t prevent golfer Cameron Young from attending Sunday church with his family.

“It’s not going to stop us, I think,” Young told reporters on Saturday, April 11, ahead of the final day of competition at Augusta National in Georgia. “I don’t know where we’re going to go yet, but we’ll find somewhere and take the kids. We’ll be out in full force just like usual.”

Young and his wife, Kelsey Dalition, are Catholics who try to attend church with their three young children regardless of where they are as the pro golfer competes at various golf tournaments around the country.

Earlier this month, Young and his family were spotted attending Easter mass at a church before the Players Championship.

“Our faith is very important to us,” he said via Golf Digest. “It’s something that I feel like brings us together. It’s very important, I think, for all of us to kind of have that part of our lives be a central portion of what we do, individually and as a family.”

While some athletes choose to keep their faith journey, beliefs or practices private, Young is open about his Catholicism. As a result, the professional athlete said he’s received positive feedback from some of his biggest fans.

“I get a lot of really, really nice comments. People saying, ‘Hey, thanks for setting a great example for my children,’” Young shared. “Honestly, it’s great to hear because I don’t feel like that’s the case all the time, and that’s one area where I’m really happy to be able to bring attention to that part of our life. I just think it’s a great opportunity to show other people that’s what we do.”

Although Rory McIlroy earned the 2026 Masters win over the weekend, Young still performed well in his fifth start at the prestigious event.

“I don’t know if it’s directly helpful, but the biggest thing for me is the fact that it’s great to have them out on the road with me,” he shared with reporters on Saturday. “I love going home and seeing everybody after whatever day it is. I’d rather go home and see them after a great day, but just having them out on the road is awesome for me.”

Young continued, “I love having them out and being able to have a more normal job. Instead of saying goodbye for three weeks or four weeks, whatever it is, I go work a long day, but I was with them this morning, and I will see them tonight. It’s nice doing that.”
