BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WKRN) — A portion of Interstate 65 in Brentwood remains closed Friday morning due to a deadly multi-vehicle crash.
According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s Smartway Map, the crash was reported at approximately 4:29 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-65 near mile marker 74.2.

Officials said traffic is being diverted at the Old Hickory Boulevard exit. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes.
In a statement to News 2, the Tennessee Highway Patrol confirmed the crash resulted in a fatality, adding that the interstate will be closed for an “extended period” as troopers investigate.

TDOT officials said the interstate is expected to fully reopen around 9 a.m. It remains unclear what led to the crash.
