Time for a few pre-match words from Michael Carrick who, upon arrival at Old Trafford, was collared for a chat by former team-mate Gary Neville on behalf of Sky Sports. Here is what the United interim manager had to say.
💬 “It’s a special feeling, what this means to me having been involved with the club for so long. But that’s put to one side, there’s a big job to do, a big responsibility. I feel that and I’m ready for that. I’m really looking forward to it, we’ve had a good few days and the boys are ready.”
Neville then asked Carrick about his team selection, particularly in defence where Maguire has been restored to the line-up.
“Experience is important in certain moments, feeling it and knowing it. It’s not every solution but it certainly helps, so it’s good to have Harry back. We’ve got a really strong group of players on the bench to come and finish the game for us as well.”
