Transfer news live updates: The latest on Jean-Philippe Mateta, Ricardo Pepi and more ahead of Monday’s deadline

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Rob Edwards says Jorgen Strand Larsen remains focused on the “here and now” despite his future remaining uncertain in the final stages of the transfer window.

Strand Larsen is a target for both Crystal Palace and Leeds United, with the London side close to agreeing a deal last week but not yet following through with a formal offer.

But the Norway international played for Wolves as second-half substitute in their 2-0 home defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday.

Asked whether Strand Larsen’s situation had changed in the last 24 hours, Edwards told his post-match press conference “As far as I’m aware, no, but over these next few hours, let’s see.

“That’s why he was involved and came on as well. He’s been focused on the here and the now with us, we’ll see how the next few days pan out.”

Edwards also reiterated his desire to add new faces to his squad before the transfer window closes on Monday evening.

Wolves have allowed three players — Marshall Munetsi, Fer Lopez and Tawanda Chirewa — to leave on loan this month but have yet to add any players to their squad.

Asked whether he still believes his squad needed ‘freshening up’, Edwards said: “Yes, still do. Time will tell. I’ve not got any more of an idea really because my focus has been on the game.

“So we’ll see how the next couple of days pan out.”
