Marc Jacobs Beauty announced its much-anticipated return on the red carpet at the 2026 Met Gala on Monday, May 4. Celebrity makeup artist Lilly Keys created the look using the brand’s new, not-yet-released products on actress Rachel Sennott, who also wore a custom Marc Jacobs gown to fashion’s biggest night of the year.
For the event, Keys created a modern take on ’60s-inspired makeup featuring retro moments like lilac eyeshadow, piecey lashes and smudged eyeliner alongside soft, sculpted skin. The slightly undone, rebellious look matched Sennott’s color-block dress, with exaggerated touches and visually interesting shapes, in keeping with the Met Gala’s Costume Art theme and “Fashion Is Art” dress code.

Last night marked the official revival of the highly anticipated makeup brand. Beauty editors and consumers alike have been eagerly awaiting its return. Though just a first look at what’s to come, one early standout is the eyeliner—the original was a widely loved cult favorite—which was used to create Sennott’s Met look. The liner isn’t overly sharp or polished; rather, it’s diffused and slightly smoky, giving it a more lived-in feel. The original eyeliner was a waterproof, super-pigmented formula with a smooth gel texture, and while details on the new iteration aren’t available just yet, fans hope the upcoming product will be similar to its iconic predecessor.
The upcoming launch remains largely under wraps, with few details emerging. Beyond the eyeliner, it’s still unclear which products will be included, and there’s no word yet on names or shade ranges. However, the makeup items will join the brand’s longstanding fragrance line.
Marc Jacobs Beauty will debut on MarcJacobs.com on May 25. Following that, it will be available in the Sephora app on May 31 and on Sephora.com in the U.S. on June 1.
