Sunshine Eye & Retina, formerly known as Telling It Like It Is, will be held from March 26 to 29 at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach.

Hosted by Healio LIVE, the meeting will feature new events such as the Corneal Health Roundtable, the Retina Case Conference Session and the Industry Innovations Summit, the latter of which will be hosted by Richard L. “Healio is proud to be the exclusive media partner of Sunshine Eye & Retina,” Stacey Adams, Chief Content Officer at Healio, said. “The meeting and Healio’s shared commitment are to provide ophthalmologists who embrace innovation with trusted, in-depth education and information to improve patient care.”

The program will prioritize education on both the clinical and business sides of ophthalmology, according to Lindstrom, Healio | OSN Chief Medical Editor and the meeting’s comprehensive program director.

“Similar to Hawaiian Eye & Retina and OSN New York & Retina, Sunshine Eye & Retina will provide a comprehensive update on current clinical and practice management information at an attractive venue,” he said. “The meeting will include both CME and industry expert theater corporate update breakfasts and lunches along with a full exhibit hall featuring industry partners.”

In addition to CME credits, the meeting will offer updates on the latest topics in clinical, surgical and practice management areas across all subspecialties as well as opportunities to reconnect with colleagues and form new connections.

“This meeting is intentionally designed to promote meaningful interaction, not just passive listening,” Singh, Healio | OSN Associate Medical Editor and the Retina program director, said. “Our format focuses on cases, cross-specialty collaboration and dialogue rather than extended didactic lectures. We also emphasize real-world considerations, including operational efficiency and practice management.”

Rishi P. Singh

Singh said that ophthalmologists can expect “highly practical and clinically relevant education” surrounding hot topics in retina, including sustained delivery strategies, geographic atrophy, diabetic eye disease, imaging-guided decision-making, and gene and cell therapies. The program was designed to deliver actionable insights that can be implemented into practice immediately.

“We’ve structured the program with early finishes to allow everyone to enjoy the venue, interact with colleagues and participate in our evening receptions along the waterfront,” Singh told Healio. “Importantly, we are embracing a family-friendly approach. The resort environment at Fontainebleau provides plenty of activities for partners, spouses and children, and the scheduling makes it easy to balance educational engagement with family time.”

“Sunshine Eye & Retina has become a highlight of the year for me, and I’m excited to bring everyone together this March in Miami,” Robert Esgro, Chief Operating Officer of meeting organizer Healio Live and accreditation partner Vindico Medical Education, said. “We built the program around what clinicians consistently ask for: great faculty, immediately useful education and a meeting that’s truly engaging, which is why we’re expanding with an additional retina track and an interactive agenda built for real discussion. With focused half-day sessions, intimate palm-tree breakouts, and time to connect during exhibit breaks and receptions, it’s a meeting that respects your schedule and strengthens your professional network. And of course, the South Florida setting makes it easy to turn the trip into a family-friendly spring getaway.”
