Elon Musk said at the World Economic Forum in Davos that Tesla plans to offer its Optimus humanoid robots for public sale by the end of 2027, setting a target for the program. Speaking with BlackRock CEO Larry Fink on Thursday, January 22, he said it could become Tesla’s most valuable product and outlined uses in labor shortages, including elder care and household management. He said approximately 1,200 humanoid robots are deployed at Giga Texas for logistics and assembly, with more complex tasks expected by year-end. Musk added that initial production will be “agonizingly slow” due to an S-curve ramp and new components. He said public availability depends on “very high” safety and functionality thresholds, and cited broader economic effects, according to Fox Business.
